What the evidence shows

  • In GLORY-1, 610 adults in China lost up to 14.0% of body weight over 48 weeks. The placebo group gained 0.3%.[1]
  • On the higher dose, 49.5% lost at least 15% of their weight, against 2.0% on placebo.[1]
  • The trial used China's lower obesity thresholds and was funded by the manufacturer. Results may not transfer directly to other populations.[1]

Known risks

  • Stomach side effects were the most common, mostly mild to moderate.[1]
  • Few stopped because of side effects: 0.5% to 1.5%, against 1.0% on placebo.[1]
  • TGA testing found unapproved peptides often do not contain what their labels claim.[2]
